2/3 cup TSP or TSP substitute
1/3 cup detergent
1 qt. bleach

The TSP substitute works the same as TSP
except it has no phosphates, phone around to your local paint and building supply
stores first as it's not available in all outlets, it's environmentally friendly.
You can use any type of detergent you want, dish, laundry; the soap acts as a
carrier for the other ingredients.
Use a garden sprayer, dampen down the area you want to clean with your garden
hose first, spray on the cleaner and let it stand for about 15 to 20 minutes,

Fred &
Gerry's Window Cleaning formula #3
Washing windows is one
of the most dreaded of spring tasks, but you can make it a lot easier on yourself
if you give up the spray cleaner and paper towels. A squirt of dishwashing liquid
in a pail of water, a natural sponge, and a squeegee will make your panes sparkle,
and cause you a lot less pain. |
Lighter fluid!
Removing grease, oil or tar spots from carpet…a wonderful tip
for the wife of a mechanic who also restores old cars at home! Our carpets are
light tan and the lighter fluid doesn’t alter the carpet colour at all.
Another advantage to the lighter fluid is that it comes in a bottle with a fine
nozzle, so the fluid can be directed to exactly where you need it.

A home
made MOSQUITO REPELLENT
Get a white plate, put some water in it, and then add a couple of drops
of LEMON Joy dishwashing soap.
Then place the plate near where you'll be sitting outside. The mosquitoes
will be attracted right to the plate, and will drop dead in the plate or nearby. How
cheap and easy was that, and no yucky chemicals!

To
Frost a Bathroom or Garage Window:
Make a solution of one cup of beer to four tbsp. Epsom salts and paint
on the window. It washes off when you want a clear pane again. |
Simple furniture
polish
Mix 2 parts olive oil or cooking oil with 1
part lemon juice, use beeswax if possible instead of the oil it will smell lovely
or
Lemony Furniture
Oil
1 cup olive oil
1 tsp lemon essential oil
Mix well. Apply with a soft rag. Wipe and buff well to a gleaming shine.
or
Furniture Polish
2 ounces beeswax
1/2 pint turpentine
About 1/4 ounce Essential Oil
You need to blend the mixture together. So heat a pan of hot water and use a
bowl that fits in it. Turpentine is flammable so you need to be careful. Grate
up the beeswax and place in the bowl with the turpentine and heat till it all
melts. Take off the heat and allow to cool. Just before it starts to harden add
any essential oil that you fancy for a lovely aroma. You can use lavender or
lemon or anything really. Once it has cooled down completely it will be like
a thick cream. You will have to put a bit of effort in to get a shine, and after
a couple of hours the smell of turpentine will diminish.
To make the above polish more manageable you can melt a table spoon of soap in
4 a cup of warm water and blend into the above mixture. |

the odours and smells as well. |

the ice starts to melt away, so does the stain. This is a fairly quick process.
Launder as usual. Remove a stubborn blood stain by applying hydrogen peroxide,
