A
SPECIAL REPORT FROM THE
B.C. HOUSING
INDUSTRY
In a Special Housing Report, we will walk
through construction sites to put a face to the workers
at the ground level, to those who craft the blue-prints,
to those whose vision begins it all.
We will profile planners and inspectors, designers and
developers, architects and engineers in short, the prime
players.
We will report on the homeowner groups, the Urban
Development Institute, Canada Mortgage and Housing Corp.,
and warranty providers, to learn what their programs
provide and how they differ from those of the past.
For a glimpse into the future, we'll talk to realtors,
economists, and demographers. By 2040, projections show
that Metropolitan Vancouver's population will grow by 80
per cent, from almost 2.3 million at the beginning of the
new millennium to close to 4.1 million. The need to
accommodate an average of 44,400 additional persons per
year will significantly affect housing demand.
Through this comprehensive study of one of B.C.'s key
industries, we aim to give you, the consumer, access to
the resources and information you will need to buy a home
with confidence. Look for Better Buildings for British
Columbians: A Special Report brought to you by the B.C.
