Tack Cloth
from Tips 07/13/2002
Surprisingly, the cabinetmaker's best friend is not the guy in the emergency room. It's the Tack Cloth, a sticky rag that removes all traces of dust and dirt. You may think that a piece of wood you've just sanded is dust-free after you've used your workshop vacuum cleaner, but it's not. To get rid of the last bits of sanding dust, you need a tack cloth. Tack cloths are inexpensive and can be reused, as long as they're kept damp. Store your tack cloth in a sealed jar or plastic bag.
