Video Tape Quality
from Tips 03/23/2002

Tape quality affects not only the sound and image of a video but also the performance of the VCR. Low-quality or old tape sheds metal particles or bits of tape that can damage VCR heads and ruin other tapes. Quality, not price, should be the guide. Opt for a standard-grade tape from an established manufacturer over a high-grade tape manufactured by a bargain-basement company.
